What is Instagram Reels?
Reels is a new Instagram feature that lets users create and share short-form video content. Reels, like TikTok, lets you record and edit 15-30 second videos, add sounds and effects, and then share the videos either with your followers or, if you have a public account, with the larger Instagram community via the Explore page.
With the introduction of reels, Instagram is seeing a surge in its audience size. The average time spent on Instagram in India also increased by 3.5% since the launch of Instagram Reels.
Now the good news is that Facebook has expanded ads in Instagram reels to all regions, including India.
Considering the exponential reach of the reels, it is a really good thing for us marketers. The CPM in reels placement is very low, along with a high CTR. This can help us greatly in maximizing our ROAS.
So it's time we make the most out of it.
Following are the steps you need to implement to run your ads on reels:
And make sure that the placement should be chosen as 'story' when creating the ad.
Step 4: Deselect all the platforms except Instagram.
Step 5: Select the following placements only (Or you can select 'only' Instagram Reels):
Step 6: Publish
Note- You can either create a separate campaign for Reels (where only Reels has been chosen as the placement at Ad-set level) or you can create a separate ad-set inside an existing Story Campaign.
Some important points to consider:
> Make sure the length of the video is not more than 30 Seconds.
> The aspect ratio/dimensions for reel ads remain the same as story ads. (Aspect ratio- 9:16, Dimensions- 1080*1920)
> For the caption/ad-text, only the first few words will be visible. Rest will come under "see more". So make sure your first few words are catchy.
> Headline will be 'Shop Now' by default.
> Make sure that the video quality is good.
> Single Product Videos work better, especially for Apparel Brands.
> UGC & Influencer content can give you the best result.
